Administration
Our mission is to support, educate and develop competent and caring health care professionals in accordance with the goals, mission and values of the College.
Registrar
Our dedicated staff assist students with course and clerkship scheduling, registration, grades, academic calendars, awards, transcripts, enrollment verifications and board examinations. We also help fourth year students with the residency application process.
Financial Services
We are committed to providing quality service to faculty, staff and students in the areas of financial aid/debt management advising, financial account management, OSAC human resource management, and OSAC budgetary oversight.
Academic Support and Tutoring
Adjusting to the volume and density of information presented in class often leaves students feeling unsure of their ability to learn and integrate it well. Our Learning Specialist offers students guidance and resources, free of charge, to help identify barriers in the learning process and develop effective learning strategies in their medical school journey at Carver.

Visiting Students
The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine accepts visiting fourth year medical students from LCME accredited schools in the United States and its territories. There are also opportunities for students from outside the United States.
Learning Communities
Each medical and physician assistant student is in one of four communities. Students assume leadership roles, engage in service learning and philanthropic efforts, and hold a variety of social and wellness activities throughout the year. Each learning community is supported by two faculty director, professional coordinator and staff member, and the Learning Communities Manager.
Student Counseling
We provide services and support to students by offering confidential counseling, academic advising, career counseling, and preventative outreach programming.
Introduction to Medical Education
Recognizing that a smooth transition to medical school enhances a student’s educational experiences, the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine offers Introduction to Medical Education at Iowa to recently admitted medical students.
