Walking isn't just good for your body; it's an opportunity to care for your mind. By slowing down, paying attention, and giving your nervous system a chance to recover, even a short walk can support your mental well-being. The Medical Student Counseling Center is sharing a couple of suggestions for well-being walks on campus, and things to stop and admire along the way. You can find mindfulness tips in our Walking for Well-Being article.
We’ve placed a QR code at the end of each walking route. Once you’ve completed a walk, please scan our QR code to leave anonymous feedback and suggestions, or access the survey here. Let us know if you have a favorite walking route or place to stop along the way so we can add more well-being routes in the future!
We’ll be sharing information about MSCC’s Campus Walks for Well-Being on 10/22 from 10am-12pm in the MERF Atrium!
MERF Atrium to the Synthesis Sculpture
.3 miles | About 6 minutes | Outdoor
From the MERF Atrium building entrance, follow the walking path between the Eckstein Medical Research Building and Bowen Science Building.
At the Medical Laboratories Building, turn right and follow the staircases down the Quad Ravine. This is a great place to listen to frogs or watch little animals scavenge for food.
Turn left once you reach the benches on the walkway in the Quad Ravine. Continue straight on the walkway until you reach the Synthesis Sculpture behind the College of Pharmacy. If you can, take some time to read about the artwork and scan the MSCC QR Code to leave feedback!

Main Hospital Entrance to the Wellness and Reflection Garden
.22 miles | About 5 minutes one-way | Outdoor
From the Hospital main entrance, follow the Hospital Drive sidewalk towards Boyd Tower. Turn left after Hospital Parking Ramp One and follow the walking path around the Center for Disabilities and Development.
At the fork in the path, turn left towards the Dental Science Building. The Wellness and Reflection Garden is on the side of the Dental Science Building closest to the talking path you’re on. It's a quiet place with tables to enjoy nature. If you can, please scan the MSCC QR Code to leave feedback!
